NORTH BELLMORE PUBLIC LIBRARY
CONSTRUCTION TO BEGIN
The Board of Trustees and staff of the North Bellmore Public Library are happy to announce that construction on the Library will begin this month. The temporary site has been readied—the modulars are in place, the materials have been moved and the new parking lot is completed. Our temporary location is adjacent to 1602 Bellmore Avenue, a very short distance from our Library building. To accommodate the move and for the safety of our staff and patrons, the Library will close at 5PM on Thursday, May 17TH and will reopen at 9AM on Tuesday, May 22ND in our temporary location.
Work on our main building will begin shortly after. The grassy area in front of the building will be fenced off, construction materials and equipment will arrive and a ground-breaking ceremony will be planned!
Our hours and phone number will remain the same, materials will still be available to be borrowed, staff will be ready to assist with any requests and public internet access computers will also be available. Our museum passes will once again be able to be reserved online. The book and media drops will be in place at the temporary location allowing the return of materials when the Library is closed.
The construction project is expected to last 12 to 18 months. The end result will be a bigger more modern building to serve our community.
The Library’s Board of Trustees and staff would like to thank you for your continued patience, support and understanding throughout this project.
